I started this journey back in Yorkton circa 1984. I watched the guitar player from my brother’s band play “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” by Van Halen and it blew me away that someone could do that. I realized it could be done and I had to do it! Since learn to play guitar like Eddie Van Halen wasn’t yet available on YouTube I had to look elsewhere. Big brother Dave showed me all he could but driven to do more I began studying classical guitar, at the age of 14, under the tutelage of Mr. Ronald Ayre (ARCT). Four years later I completed a Grade 10 in the Royal Conservatory program.

From Yorkton to Los Angeles. At age 17 I pursued this passion all the way to Hollywood California where I attended the Musician’s Institute (G.I.T.).

Player Profile

I have toured with a number of diverse local bands ranging from contemporary and classic rock acts to tribute acts (Hollywood Vampires Tribute to Alice Cooper & Rory Allen’s Tribute to Elvis Presley) to contemporary country acts.

Lately the studio takes up much of my focus but I have been known to pop up in clubs, casinos, charity events and most recently CTVs Morning Live with some of the best talent Saskatchewan has to offer (Chris Henderson, Blake Berglund, Jess Moskaluke, Amanda Jane Duncan, Darlene Tuletta, Melissa Mannett).

Production/Engineering/Mixing

Started out providing freelance engineering work for various studios around Saskatchewan (Freedom Sound Studio, Touchwood Studio, and Sound Edge Studio) and then spent 4 years at Talking Dog Post and Sound Studio where my responsibilities included: Bg’s, SFX, Dialog Editing and Mixing for film, television, and commercials.

In the fall of 2002 I started my own studio venture, B-Rad Studio

From 2006 – 2011 I parted my time between Canada and Nashville. In Nashville I was doing freelance Engineering work before finally obtaining my United States, O1Visa (3yrs work visa) being sponsored/working for Billy Block Productions.

Some of the highlights over years include:

  • 2020 Feature Interview by Peter Mills at CBC Sask to talk about “Slow Down (feat.Holly Pop & Jesse Peters)” a song I co-wrote. Produced, Mixed, Engineered, Mastered and made a Video with Holly and Jesse about the current Covid situation and the ability to keep the creative process active through working remotely via the Internet

game of 2017 by Entertainment Weekly, a BAFTA for Best Game Music and an Academy
of Arts and Sciences D.I.C.E. award for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music. The
game has gone on to sell 7 million copies to date

  • Recorded/Mixed and Mastered Donny Parenteau’s “The Great Unknown” album that garnered a nomination for “Engineer of the Year” award at the Canadian Aboriginal Awards in 2005.
  • Engineer for John Corbett (Aiden’s Sex and City) for the track “Ain’t No Trouble to Me” ( a tune written by Jon Randall/Guy Clark) which was released on the Nashville compilation cd “For Kates Sake”. This was Produced by Garry W. Tallent (from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band) and Billy Block.
